While an undergraduate at Columbia University Iman began as a pre-med and left as an individual interested in all components of life with a bachelor degree in Biological Sciences. She studied philosophy to understand what a good life was, psychology to understand how people live those lives on a social and communal level, and biology and neurobiology to extensively to look at how the cells and neurons of our body sustain our lives on a fundamental level. From this education she grew an fostered a love for STEM and its relationship to how we live our lives, and how we can live those lives to their fullest capacity.

Iman heavily applied her education to her athletic career as an NCAA and Team USA athlete. As a Division I athlete for the Columbia University varsity fencing team, Iman won nearly every title and honor possible, including three NCAA Championship titles and Columbia University’s career athlete honor. Simultaneously, as an athlete for Team USA, Iman won multiple national and world championship medals which culminated is her status as an Olympic Alternate for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic games. Some of her most notable accomplishments include being a 4X junior world championships medalist, 7x World Team member, and being a part of the first Women’s Foil National team to reach world ranking #1 in 20 years.

Iman believes that there is a champion in everyone and defines a champion as a person who lives in a way that inspires themselves and others. Through her communal work and personal journey, she aspires to inspire you.
